West Lancashire Mark No.65

At an ordinary meeting of this lodge on 2nd March, W.Bro. Andrew Thomas Hughes was advanced into the order, in exemplary if dramatic style!
In the absence of our WM, whose wife was in hospital in Coventry, the lodge Secretary, W.Bro. Richard Wilson acted as WM. Peter Connolly was Lodge SD, both kept in hand by our DC W.Bro. John Roberts (chairman of Liverpool Masonic Hall).
Peter Connolly as SD, Richard Wilson as WM and Candidate Andrew Hughes
Our newest member, Andrew Thomas had acting Prov. rank in the Craft, now P.Pr.A.G.D.C., and is the DC of Aigburth Craft Lodge meeting in Garston. In private life he is a research scientist with the NHS at the Royal: currently specialising in bone disease.
Derek Gaskell publicity officer for Liverpool area, Richard Wilson PGStdB acting WM
and candidate Andrew Hughes.
Andrew was wearing a lodge Kilwinning tie: his brother is currently WM of Lodge Kilwinning, number ‘0’!  Andrew explained that their Installation ceremony started at 2pm with a public procession around the town, led by the pipes. It finished at 11pm. West Lancs 65 finished a bit earlier!

Derek Gaskell, (whoever heard of a publicity man without his camera ?!?!), acted as Tyler, and in a fine reply to the toast to the guests told a witty story. He only got away with it because Peter Connolly's was worse (no change there then!).

A fine and enjoyable night was had by the 18 present, not least our new joining members from Temperance.
